Mumbai : The Economic Offence Wing of Mumbai Police has registered a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against DC Design founder Dilip Chhabria and other directors of the company. If police sources are to be believed, this case has been registered after the complaint of a person named Indramal Ramani. Ramani has alleged that Chhabria and his company implicated and manipulated them into the spare parts business. Police has registered a case against Dilip Chhabria, his wife Cheri Chhabria, son Bonito, his wife Anushree and sister Kanchan.

What is the whole matter?
According to Ramani’s statement, in the year 2019, Ramani completely shut down his spare parts business in Pune and went to Chennai where he started investing in gold jewelery. Meanwhile, Chhabria met Ramani where Chhabria proposed to Ramani to start his spare parts business again.

If police sources are to be believed, Chhabria told Ramani to start the spare parts business again by telling him that there is a lot of profit. According to the agreement, Chhabria’s company will buy all the big spare parts from Ramani’s company which will be used for DC Avanti car design.

Ramani initially invested 16.50 crore rupees in the spare parts business and supplied the spare parts to make DC Avanti cars. But things did not grow in the way that it should have increased, giving Ramani a reason for recession and demanded money. Chhabria said that if he does not get the help of more money then he will suffer a lot.

Police said that Ramani was also going through money problems and asked Chhabria that he can give a loan at 18% interest, on which Chhabria assured that he will return all the money on time. Initially, Sanwariya gave a few crores to Ramani, but later his son Bonita issued a stop payment. And later Chhabria also started ignoring Ramani, after seeing that Ramani came to know that he was cheating with him.

According to the complaint, in 2017 and 2018 Ramani gave 17 crore 19 lakh rupees to Chhabria, whose interest is being told about 5 crores.
