Poisonous Gas Leaked At A Dairy Plant in Andhra Pradesh, 14 Unconscious, 3 Critical

Hyderabad : Ammonia gas leaks at a milk dairy in Bandapalli in Putlapattu mandal under Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, leaving 14 people unconscious. All have been admitted to the hospital. At present, the condition of three is said to be critical. The sub-inspector of Putlapattu has been quoted as saying that 11 people are said to be safe and out of danger. Some women have also fallen victim to poisonous gas in the accident.

According to the information, due to the smell of gas, the condition of the workers present in the company started deteriorating and they had difficulty in breathing. As soon as the news of the gas leak came out, all the workers were evacuated and admitted to the hospital. The condition of three still remains critical. Police said that the leakage of ammonia gas leaked from the plant has been closed.

The tweet by the TDP leader and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s son Lokesh Nara has raised concern over the incident. Lokesh Nara tweeted, “14 people have been admitted to the hospital due to health issues after gas leak from the dairy plant in Chittoor. About 25 people have been affected by the gas coming out of the plant. All those affected in this incident should be treated better.”

Earlier there was a leakage of styrene gas from the Visakhapatnam LG Polymer Unit, in which about 13 people died and more than a thousand people fell ill. In the last several days, many reports of gas leak incidents have been reported from different cities of Andhra Pradesh.
