Pune Crime News | Policeman on night patrolling seriously injured in knife attack in Pune

An incident of attack on the police has happened within the area of Viman Nagar Police Station in Pune. Angered over the forcible shutting down of a Chinese food stall, which was open till late night, a beat marshal was attacked with a knife. (Pune Crime News)

 

The seriously injured policeman has been identified as Sachin Uttam Jagdale and has lodged a complaint at the airport police station. In this case, an FIR has been filed under sections 353, 333 of IPC and Maharashtra Police Act against Mahanandeshwar alias Mallya Mahadev Batale (24) from Osmanabad. The incident took place around 11:15 pm on Saturday at Samaira Chinese Centre, Dhanori Zakat Naka, Lohegaon.

 

According to the police, complainant police naik Sachin Jagdale was patrolling at Lohegaon. As per the call he received, he went to close Samaira Chinese Centre. The accused had come there to dine. Angered over not getting food to eat, he attacked Jagdale on his left cheek with a knife at the food joint. Jagdale was seriously injured in this attack. A case of obstructing government work has been registered against the accused Batale.

 

After knowing about the incident, night patrol officer DCP Rohidas Pawar, Sr PI Vilas Sonde, PI Mangesh Jagtap, PI Uttam Chakre, API MS Pathak rushed to the spot. Injured Sachin Jagdale was immediately admitted to a private hospital for treatment. The airport police are conducting further investigation.
