Pune: During the bullock cart race organised on the occasion of Khandoba Yatra at Malthan village of Shindewadi in Shirur taluka, an intense dispute arose between Gyanoba Shinde, Bhanudas Shinde, and Sanjay Shinde over the issue of ancestral land property. In the altercation following the dispute between them, Sanjay Shinde, who was seriously injured in the dispute, died during treatment.

According to the police information, on Sunday, April 28, there was Khandoba’s yatra at Malthan village of Shindewadi in Shirur taluka. On that occasion, a bullock cart race was organised by villagers in the village. Sanjay Shinde (a resident of Rawdevadi, Taluka Shirur) had gone to watch that bullock cart race.

While he was watching the race, Bhanudas Shinde and Gyanoba Shinde arrived there and abused Sanjay Shinde over demanding a share of the ancestral land property. Over that issue, they had an argument in which Bhanudas and Gyanoba severely assaulted Sanjay Shinde with wooden sticks. They further threatened not to leave him alive.

In this assault, Sanjay Shinde was greatly injured and was then immediately admitted to a private hospital in Shirur for emergency treatment by senior citizens of the village. However, Sanjay Shinde succumbed to his injuries and lost his life during the treatment.

In this regard, Gangubai Rakhma Shinde (age 62), a resident of Rawdevadi village, Taluka Shirur, filed a police complaint at Shirur Police Station. The police have registered a case against Bhanudas Gyanoba Shinde and Gyanoba Govind Shinde (residents of Shindewadi-Malthan).
