Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University will be conducting undergraduate and postgraduate examinations in online mode from March 15. The examination for second and final year will be held from March 15 and that of the first-year will commence from March 30. The decision was taken at the Pune University Board Examination meeting held on Tuesday (February 9).

To avoid malpractices during the exams, the full proctored mode will be used. Students who try to cheat or misbehave during the exam will be issued five warnings, after which the exam will close automatically.

Director of the Board of Examinations and Assessment, Dr. Mahesh Kakade said that a committee has been formed to evaluate the circumstances to conduct examinations. “Considering the convenience of the students and the college, the committee will submit a report in 2-3 days whether to conduct exams at the college center or on the student’s personal devices”.   College labs will be used to check the answer sheets of final year students, he added.

Examinations for all the years except the final year of undergraduate and postgraduate degree will be conducted on multiple-choice basis. The examination will be of 50 marks and time span will be an hour. For final year students, the examination will be of 70 marks and will be held for one and half hour. Out of the 70 marks, 50 marks will be multiple choice questions while 20 marks will be descriptive questions. The answer to each question must be within 30 words. Students will have to write the answers, scan it, then generate its QR code and attach it to the answer sheet. Videos on how to do QR code and how to upload, will be made available.
