The new rules issued by the government encourage officials to issue e-challans through the portal.   Along with it one can also check the validity of the vehicle, and the other related documents online in digital format. The new set of rules also allows commuters to show document copy in digital format and also that no police officer can demand a physical copy of the same.
The regulations also allow carrying digitised versions of documents like driving license, registration certificate, insurance papers and many more and can upload the same on Digilocker or MTransport Portal. The other details such as information related to revoked and disqualified driving licenses will also be updated on the web portal. This will benefit the government and concerned departments, authorities. It will help the authorities to monitor the drivers’ behaviour, when in need.
To make most of the newly updated regulation, the government is also considering removing restrictions over using mobiles to find directions during travel. It will allow commuters to use Google maps while driving.
