Administrative reshuffle in Pune will control Covid-19 cases?

Pune : Amid a spike in Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra and when Pune is among the worst hit in the state, the state government on Saturday transferred Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad and replaced him with Vikram Kumar who held CEO of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).

As per the sources, Gaikwad was transferred as he was not keen on imposing lockdown in the city, in a meeting chaired by the deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar.

Citizens, activists, and several others questioned government motive behind such transfers, earlier too Sassoon hospital dean was transferred. Many people asked will such reshuffle help to control the spike in Covid-19 cases

As of now, Pune has 27,525 cases, while on July 13 it has 9203 cases alone in the city.
