Case registered against two policemen of Pune Rural Police for accepting bribe
Pune : Policenama online – Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Pune | The ACB Pune has registered a case against two policemen of Pune Rural Police for accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 after demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 for not registering under a case of domestic violence and providing help.
A probe carried out by ACB Pune revealed that the policemen had demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 and a printer for the police chowki. A case has been filed at Wadgaon Nimbalkar police station.
The accused have been identified as police constable Shivaji Satav (52) and Police Naik Gopal Jadhav (35). A 67-year-old man had registered a complaint at the ACB on December 24, 2021. When a team from ACB probed the matter, they came to know that Satav and Jadhav had sought a bribe. Hence, a case has been registered against them.
A probe by Pune ACB revealed that a case of domestic violence is registered against the complainant and his family and Police Naik Gopal Jadhav is probing the case. Satav and Jadhav had demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 to buy a printer for the police chowki, a probe revealed.
A case has been registered against Shivaji Satav and Gopal Jadhav against the anti-corruption act on February 24.
This action was taken by Police Inspector Bharat Salunkhe and his team under the guidance of Pune ACB SP Rajesh Bansode, Addl SP Suraj Gurav and Addl SP Suhas Nadgauda.
