Seattle : A 70-year-old man infected with a coronavirus, having been discharged from the hospital, suffered a heart attack twice after seeing Bill, although the man has been rescued.
Michael Flor, a 70-year-old man, remained in hospital for 62 days after being infected with COVID-19. Flor was one of the longest-lived patients at the Swedish Medical Center in Issaquah, King County, Washington State. He knew that the bill would come too much, but had no idea it could shock him. After being discharged, the hospital handed him an 181-page bill, which totaled $ 1.1 million (eight crore rupees).
According to the Seattle Times, after the first heart attack hearing the bill amount, a nurse put his phone to his ear, while his wife and children were bidding him a final farewell. Flor, who was recovering at his home, got a heart attack for the second time seeing the bill amount.
The hospital charged $ 9,736 daily for the ICU. The total bill he spent in ICU was $ 4,08,912. In addition, the charge of staying on a mechanical ventilator for 29 days was charged at $ 2,835 per day, totaling $ 82,215. At the same time, a quarter of the bill included only medicines. For two days, his lungs, kidney and heart deteriorated in functioning, for which he was charged for one million dollars. The hospital has charged a total of 3000 items in the bill.
