Guwahati, Dec 5 (UNI)- The most recent report from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) indicated a noteworthy decline in overall crime in Assam, with a reduction of nearly 50 pc since 2021, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said.
According to the NCRB report, the crime rate per lakh people in Assam was 341 in 2021 and 194 in 2022, he added. “The latest NCRB report suggests overall crime in Assam has reduced by nearly 50% since 2021.
Our efforts in transparent recruitment and investments in SMART policing are bearing fruit. We will not rest till Assam is crime free,” Sarma said on X ( formally Twitter).
