Doubt On Aarogya Setu App? Get 1 Lakh Rs Reward If You Find Any Bug, Govt. Open Sources Code for App

New Delhi : Aarogya Setu App has downloaded by 5 crore people within 15 days and by 10 crore people in 40 days in the country. According to the central government, the Arogya Setu app, designed to prevent COVID-19 infection, has detected 3000 hot spots across the country.

At the same time, many big ethical hackers have questioned the privacy of the app. Due to which the Center has decided to make its source code public to remove the doubts of privacy concerns of the app.

The central government has made the Android version of Aarogya Setu open source on Tuesday (26 May). NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant made a press conference and announced the Arogya Setu app to be open source. With this, developers will now be able to inspect and modify the COVID-19 contact tracing app.

The government has also launched a bug bounty program to find bugs in the app, under which a reward of one lakh rupees will be given for finding a bug in the Arogya Setu app. The government welcomed all the developers and said that if they have any question or any suggestion about the app, then it is welcome.

Recently, Elliot Alderson, a French ethical hacker, challenged the government about the security of Aarogya Setu. The hacker had said that this app can be a threat to the privacy of 9 crore people registered on the app, while Rahul Gandhi had also justified the questions raised on the app.

Immediately after these questions, the government had clarified that the personal information of the user on the app will not be leaked because the system is constantly being upgraded and tested.
