Former MLA and son booked in land dispute case

Pune: Over a land dispute case, Chaturshringi police on Tuesday booked former Congress MLA Vinayak Nimhan and his son Chandrashekhar alias Sunny Nimhan.

After a complaint by Sanjay Jagtap, police booked duo. Jagtap an autorickshaw driver and stays in Pashan, as per his complaint, he was given power of attorney by Shrikant Kulkarni and Kuldeep Singh Sohal for 8.40 area (0.2 acres) of land in Baner.

Seven months back when he was measuring a land with the help of government officers, former MLA opposed a move and claimed ownership.

On July of 6, when Jagtap with few workers cleaning the plot, the two accused reached and thrashed them, according to Jagtap he was assaulted on head and back.

But, Nimhan denied the allegation and claimed encroached land belongs to him. Police booked Nimhan under section 324,504,506 and 34.
