New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) – Cash-starved budget carrier Go First has cancelled flights till May 9, 2023 citing operational reasons.

“We regret to inform that due to operational reasons, Go First flights scheduled till 9th May 2023 have been cancelled. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the flight cancellations,” the airline said.

It said that a full refund will be issued to the original mode of payment shortly.

Wadia group-owned Go First earlier this week moved to National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) seeking resolution under bankruptcy law. It had announced suspension of flights till May 5.

The airline had on Tuesday said it was forced to file for bankruptcy due to the ever-increasing number of failing engines supplied by Pratt & Whitney.

“More precisely, Go First has been forced to apply to the NCLT after Pratt & Whitney, the exclusive engine supplier for Go First’s Airbus A320neo aircraft fleet, refused to comply with an award issued by an emergency arbitrator appointed in accordance with the 2016 Arbitration Rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC),” the airline had said.
