Policenama Online :  Veteran playback singer Udit Narayan received abusive and threatening calls from an unknown person for the past one month and sought the help of the anti-extortion cell of Mumbai crime branch.

Though the police is yet to register an FIR (First Information Report) and they have found out that the calls were made from a stolen phone.

Senior police inspector of the Amboli Police station has already recorded a statement, “As there had been a threat, as per the standard operating procedure (SOP) statement was sent to the AEC of the crime branch.

Narayan got three calls from the same number. The first call came around a month ago, while second and third came on July 17 and 23. The caller identified as Laxman claimed to know when Narayan leaves home and where he goes. He also threatened to kill the singer.
