India’s Most Wanted Dawood Ibrahim On The Backseat, Another Don in the Headlines in Karachi

Karachi : It was not an immediate political attack on the Bhutto family when Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan’s favorite minister Ali Hyder Zaidi on Saturday accused an opposition minister in Sindh of harboring drug trade. Zaidi in a tweet the other day described Bilawal Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party (ruling PPP-Sindh) involved in ‘kidnapping, extortion, corruption… even murder’.

It is believed that in India and all over the world, the power of the port city of Karachi operates at the behest of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. But in Sindh, many people, like Ali Hyder Zaidi, believe that organized crime has spread as a faction of ministers in this big city of Pakistan. The PPP is in power in this province.

The Bhutto family has been accused by opposition parties of patronizing underworld don Uzair Baloch, while he has been involved in the killing of 150 people. Uzair is currently imprisoned in Karachi Central Jail and operates his gang from the jail itself.

Dawood Ibrahim, India’s most wanted fugitive, is said to live in a posh Clifton area and is constantly distancing himself from local rivalries over crimes such as drug, extortion, kidnapping for extortion.

Dawood’s infamous D-Company International Syndicate focuses more on crime and hawala operations. So far no controversy has arisen with D Company’s Lyari Gangs. Lyari is a densely populated area located in Karachi. Lyari is infamous for criminal gangs, drugs and gun business.

Currently, the Lyari gangs affiliated with Uzair Baloch (41) rule this port city and where the underworld is thriving mainly on drug trafficking from Afghanistan.

Uzair came to Limelight in 2013 when he shot and killed underworld veteran Pappu Ashraf. According to the records of the Karachi police, Uzair went to his house in a posh defense housing area (DHA) with 20 armed men and abducted Ashraf and his two accomplices first and then murdered them later.

Uzair, who holds dual citizenship of Pakistan and Iran, used his political clout while shifting between the two countries. To control this dreaded gangster, authorities handed it over to the army in 2017 in a case of espionage.

Meanwhile, federal minister for maritime affairs Ali Hyder Zaidi has shared a video with the media, revealing the nefarious relationship between the Uzair and Bhutto families. Zaidi has released a video containing the statement of an insider named Jaan Habib to expose PPP President Asif Ali Zardari.

According to Geo TV, Jaan Habib has revealed that the PPP has been transferring police officers at the behest of Uzair. Jaan has alleged, “It is true. IG Sindh was also transferred and the Interior Ministry as Rahman Malik stood at his door.”

In the video, Jaan claimed that Uzair had met Zardari in private. He said, “Zardari met Uzair and it was an important meeting. Uzair called me and said that Zardari has called him and wants to meet him. He needs to go to meet Zardari with Qadir Patel. Zardari wanted his so-called brother Uzair to contest from Lyari. ”

The allegation of Zaidi, a close aide of Imran Khan, has shifted the attention of the people to the underworld in Karachi. The only Lyari gangs in the discussion are those who could later push back the D-Company, which has close ties with the political leadership in Pakistan.
