Insurance holder will soon get e-policy sitting at home, IRDAI gives approval to insurance companies

New Delhi: General and health insurance companies can now issue e-policy online approved by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI).

A senior officer of IRDAI said that in future, the police’s regarding issuing the insurance policy to be made electronic form will be prepared. In a meeting at an industry event , the member of IRDAI said that a lot needs to be done in the case of policy holders and other stakeholders in the insurance sector.

He said, “As far as the regulator is concerned, a lot of work has to be done. We are constantly looking at what needs to be done, not only for the policy holders but also looking into the matter of all parties related to the insurance sector. Some of the steps that we have taken are related to the health insurance sector. ”

While addressing the National E-Summit Health Insurance by industry organization ASSOCHAM, he said, “Yesterday you all would have seen that we are now allowing insurance companies to issue e-policies as a proposal. I believe it is the need of the hour. Gradually, there will be a working environment between intermediate units, agents and policy holders by staying away. We must adopt such a system at the earliest, where this new rule will be made. ”

How do agents work in a digital way?

He said that it is necessary to make insurance products more attractive. The IRDA is looking to make health a part of the insurance policy package.
