Amidst this charged atmosphere, a ‘Nirdhar Melawa’ (determination meet) organized by the Shetkari Kamgar Paksha (SKP) in Murud witnessed a controversial statement from Jayant Patil, potentially igniting a firestorm of controversy.

During the gathering, Jayant Patil’s remarks took an unexpected turn as he criticised Sunil Tatkare, a close associate of Ajit Pawar, saying he is the “second wife” of Ajit Pawar. Patil’s statement, delivered with fervour, is poised to stir debate and draw sharp reactions from various quarters.

Ajit Pawar, in a recent press conference held in Pune, announced Sunil Tatkare’s candidacy from Raigad for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, making him the first candidate put forth by the Ajit Pawar faction. However, with seat allocation yet to be finalised, Pawar’s decision has already sparked contention within political circles.

Jayant Patil didn’t mince his words as he lambasted Tatkare during the SKP meeting, accusing him of betraying his brother, Anil Tatkare, who played a pivotal role in his political upbringing. Patil’s impassioned speech resonated with a call for revenge, vowing to ensure Tatkare’s defeat in the elections as payback for perceived betrayal.
