Pune : Policenama online – Maharashtra Rains | A low-pressure belt has been formed from the south-eastern part of the Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep Islands to North Maharashtra. Hence, cloudy weather conditions prevail in the entire Konkan region and Central Maharashtra.
Rains have been reported in Pune, Mumbai, Nashik and Konkan since morning on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall for the next three days. Heavy rainfall may occur in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Rains lashed Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh due to a low-pressure area over the Andaman Islands. This LPA is likely to develop into a storm resulting in heavy rains in South India. In this backdrop, another LPA in the Arabian Sea has been formed.
Rain has started in Mumbai since the wee hours on Wednesday. Pune has been receiving light rain since early morning. Chilly winds are also blowing in the city. Minimum temperature dropped to 12 degrees Celsius two days ago.
