MUMBAI : Mumbai Police – Pune Crime News | An unknown person has issued a threat to the Mumbai police that several bomb blasts will take place in Mumbai and Pune, the Mumbai police said. The person said that bomb blasts will take place at Andheri and Kurla in Mumbai on Saturday (June 24) at 6.30 pm.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai police with the help of UP police, have arrested the unidentified person who made the threatening call. The accused, in the 25-30 age group, has been brought to Mumbai. The reason behind making the call is unknown. The accused has different names and he is not revealing his real name to the police. The police are probing the case.
Mumbai police sources said that a caller called up the police control room in Mumbai at 10 am on Thursday and told them that bomb blasts will take place at 6.30 pm in Andheri and Kurla areas in Mumbai on June 24 (Saturday). He told the police that he wanted ₹2 lakh and if he gets the money, he can prevent the blasts from happening. He also said that blast will take place in Pune also. The caller told the police that he would go to Malaysia if gets ₹2 lakh.
During the probe, the police came to know that the call had been made from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. The accused has been arrested by the police. The Amboli police have registered an FIR under sections 505(1) (B), 505(2) and 185 of the IPC and are carrying out a probe.
