Nashik : Policenama online – The Police Commissioner of Nashik Deepak Pandey last week attended the funeral of a woman florist who used to stay in Koliwada in Satpur area.
The family members and relatives were touched by the police chief’s gesture and the florist’s son hugged Pandey at the funeral.
Jijabai Ramdas Purane was a florist and she was ailing for some time. She suddenly died on Friday night. After he came to know about her death, Nashik Police Commissioner Deepak Pandey attended the funeral and consoled her son Vijay.
Pandey’s official residence is located in Mahatma Nagar area. Jijabai used to sell flowers on one of the roads in the locality. Pandey used to buy flowers from her every day and they had developed an emotional bond. Pandey used to enquire about her health every time he purchased flowers from her. However, she had not come to sell flowers for a couple of days. Pandey saw that her son Vijay used to sell the flowers.
When the police chief asked Vijay, he told him that his mother was sick. Pandey immediately went to Jijabai’s house and spent some time enquiring about her health. He also promised to help her financially.
Jijabai suddenly died on Friday night. Pandey went to her residence and consoled the family members. At that time, her son Vijay hugged the police chief and cried on his shoulder.
Many people were moved by the police chief’s gesture as he did not have any blood ties with the florist.
