Pune Crime | Friend kills man over monetary dispute; accused arrested by Shivajinagar police
Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime | A man’s body which had been disfigured with a stone had been found below the Dengle Bridge opposite NCP Bhavan in the Shivajinagar police station limits. The Shivajinagar police have arrested the accused within 12 hours after probing the case. A friend of the deceased killed him over a monetary dispute and had disfigured the face with a stone to prevent the identity from being known.(Pune Crime)
The Shivajinagar police went to the spot and conducted a panchnama after being informed about a body being found below the Dengle bridge. When the police were trying to ascertain the identity of the accused, they found a mobile near his body. The police started the search for the accused. A person called on the mobile seeking money. A team of the Shivajinagar police reached Budhwar Peth after tracing the call.
After technical analysis, the police apprehended the caller. After questioning him and checking the CCTV footage, the police realised that both the persons were different. The deceased was identified but it had not been proved who had killed him.
The police were checking CCTV footage of nearby areas to find the accused. However, the friend of the deceased was giving wrong information to the police. During the interrogation, the police found that whatever he had told them was false. He was the prime suspect and he admitted killing him by smashing his head with a stone after making him consume alcohol. He said there was a monetary dispute between them.
The action was taken by a team of police officials including API Bajirao Naik, PSI Atul Kshirsagar, PSI Bhairavnath Shelke, PSI Sunil Kulkarni, police havaldar Bashir Sayyad, Avinash Bhivre, Kantilal Gund, Pravin Rajput, Atul Sathe, Prashant Shinde and policeman Aniket Bhingare under the guidance of Addl CP Rajendra Dahale, DCP Priyanka Narnavre, ACP Ramakant Mane, Senior PI Anita More, PI Vikram Gaud and PI Shailesh Sankhe.
