Pune: Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi Metro route will provide a strong alternative for public transport: Murlidhar Mohol

Pune: The ambitious Shivajinagar to Hinjawadi Metro project will connect IT hub Hinjawadi to the heart of city and will provide a strong and speedy public transport alternative. This confidence was expressed by Maha Yuti’s Pune Lok Sabha candidate Murlidhar Mohol.

He was speaking at the conclusion of a campaign rally from Shivajinagar Gaothan on Friday. MLA Siddharth Shirole, Datta Khade, Aditya Malve, Ravindra Salegaonkar, Sunil Pande, Ganesh Bagade, Kiran Orse, Dr Ajay Dudhane, Hemant Dabi, Aprana Kurhade, Sachin Wadekar, Sachin Manvatkar, Dayanand Irkal, Akash Renuse and Sanajay Turekar participated in the campaign.

Mohol said, “The project is being implemented on a public-private-partnership basis by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). The Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi Metro route is 23.3 km long and has 23 stations on it. It connects Hinjawadi, Wakad, Balewadi, Aundh, Ganeshkhind, Khairewadi and Shivajinagar. The route will be extended up to Hadapsar and Loni Kalbhor in the future. The project is 55 pc complete. It is likely to be completed by May 2025. I will consistently follow up on its progress.”

Mohol’s campaign rally started from Rokdoba Mandir. Ganesh mandals and various social organisations welcomed the rally in their respective areas. Many women performed aarti of the candidate at various places. The rally passed through Shivajinagar Gaothan, Rashtravadi Bhavan, Tofkhana, Jungli Maharaj road, Gokhale Meorial Chowk, FC road and concluded at the Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk.
