Pune: Wanwadi Police Pursues Case of Deceptive Affair: Osmanabad Man Accused of Sexual Exploitation and Extortion

Pune: A complaint has been registered against a young man from Osmanabad, in Wanwadi police station, who kept physical relations with a young woman by falsely luring her for marriage and extorting an amount of Rs 80 thousand from her. The complainant mentioned that the accused has repeatedly maintained physical relations with her by falsely claiming marriage since 2018.

In this case, a 26-year-old girl living in Keshavnagar, Mundhwa, lodged a complaint against the accused, Sagar Vaman Rathod, at Wanwadi police station on Friday. 29-year-old Rathod is originally a resident of Kosgaon Itkal village in the Osmanabad district.

The plaintiff mentioned in the complaint that the accused and she have been in a relationship for the past six years. The accused repeatedly maintained physical relations with the plaintiff, citing a fake marriage proposal to her.

Meanwhile, Rathod also extracted 80 thousand rupees from the plaintiff, citing a financial emergency. However, till now, he has only repaid five thousand rupees of the given amount.

Appallingly, last week, the accused refused to pay the remaining money to the plaintiff and told her that he could not marry her. He also threatened the girl against telling anyone about the incident.

Feeling cheated, the accused filed a complaint against the accused under IPC 376, 376/2/N, and 506 on Friday. Wanwadi police are conducting further investigation into it.
