Repeated Sexual Harassment of Minor Girl in Wagholi; Lonikand Police Booked Accused Under POCSO

Pune: A perturbing incident of repeatedly raping a minor girl has come to light in the Wagholi area, where a minor girl was repeatedly raped by a 40-year-old individual taking advantage of the girl’s aloneness in her house. In this regard, the victim’s mother filed a complaint against the accused at Lonikand police station on Sunday, April 7.

The accused individual has been identified as Santosh Mahadev Chaudhari. Chaudhari is a resident of Vishrantwadi. As per the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the accused illicitly entered the plaintiff’s house, ensuring no one else was present in the house except the victim girl.

After that, the accused forcefully sexually assaulted the minor girl. Shockingly, he threatened the victim girl with killing her by hanging her from the ceiling fan of her house. The accused did not stop here, as he repeatedly raped the minor girl from March 2024 until the plaintiff registered a police complaint against him on Sunday.

Frustrating with the accused’s continuous abuse and mental suffering, the victim recounted the entire ordeal through which she suffered for the past one month to her mother, revealing the mental trauma she experienced because of that incident. After that, the victim’s mother lodged a complaint against the accused at Lonikand police station, urging police to take stricter action against the accused.

Taking stringent note of the complaint, Lonikand police booked the accused under IPC 376, 376/2/N, 506, and the POCSO Act. Assistant Police Inspector Vanjari is conducting further investigation into the case.
