New Delhi : BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra shared a photo on his Twitter account on Monday. In this, the board of Dehradun Railway Station is visible. The special thing is that in this board, the name of the Dehradun city is written in Hindi, English and Sanskrit, while Urdu is missing from the board. After this, railway officers also had to give clarification on this matter. The railways clearly said that Sanskrit was not used in the Dehradun board.

Northern Railway officials in Delhi said that Sanskrit name is not on the signboard at Dehradun station right now. As before, the name of the station is written on the board in English, Hindi and Urdu. Officials of the Railway Ministry claimed that confusion was being spread about it on social media.

At the same time, a zonal railway officer said, ‘Yard remodeling work was going on in Dehradun. So the builders got some signboards, in which the name of the city was written in Sanskrit by mistake. But when the station was operating after work, it was rectified and the name was written in English, Hindi and Urdu. ‘

The issue came to light on Monday morning when BJP national vice-president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe first retweeted two pictures posted by a Twitter handle named ‘Eagle Eye’. While one photograph allegedly showed an old Dehradun station signboard, in which the name was written in Hindi, English and Urdu, in another picture the signboard had the name in Urdu instead of Sanskrit.
