Mumbai : Policenama online – The accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea, has alleged that Bora is alive and has been seen in Jammu and Kashmir by a woman. She has mentioned this in a letter sent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
India Today has published a report in the case. According to the report, Mukerjea says she has met a woman in the prison who claims to have met Bora in Jammu and Kashmir. She has asked CBI to search for her in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mukerjea is lodged at Byculla Jail in Mumbai at present and she has written a letter to CBI from the jail. She has also submitted a plea to the special CBI court and a hearing may take place soon.
Mukerjea was arrested in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case in 2015 and is lodged at Byculla Jail. Last months, the Bombay High Court had rejected her bail plea and she is expected to approach the Supreme Court through her lawyer Sana Khan.
Sheena Bora was killed on April 24, 2012. When the murder case came to light, Mukerjea’s driver Shyamvar Rai had been arrested for possessing a weapon without permission. During investigation, he admitted that he is involved in another case and he is a witness in a murder case.
Rai told the Mumbai police that Indrani Mukerjea killed Sheena Bora by strangling her in 2012. Based on the shocking information, Mukherjee was arrested in 2015. During investigation, it came to light that Sheena was the first daughter of Indrani Mukerjea and was blackmailing her to buy her a house in Mumbai.

According to the Mumbai police and CBI, Indrani had abandoned her two children Sheena and Mikhail. After Indrani married Peter Mukerjea, she saw her photograph in a magazine and Sheena got information about her mother.
Later, Indrani’s first husband Sanjiv Khanna and Rai killed Sheena and the body was disposed of on April 25, 2012. This matter came to light in 2015.
Sheena came to Mumbai with her mother and Indrani introduced her as her sister. She also told Peter Mukerjea that Sheena was her sister. Sheena disappeared in 2012.
After she disappeared, Peter Mukerjea’s son from his first marriage, Rahul Mukerjea tried to trace her. Rahul and Sheena had been in a live-in relationship for some time.

Indrani throttled Sheena in Bandra area of Mumbai and had disposed of her body in Raigad. The police had arrested Sanjiv Khanna along with Indrani under the charges of murder and destroying evidence.
The CBI had also arrested Peter Mukerjea for being involved in the conspiracy but he was given bail in 2020. Peter and Indrani took divorce during the trial.
