Social Security Cell raids gambling den at Dattanagar; action taken against eight people

Pune : Policenama online Pune Crime News | The Social Security Cell (SSC) of Pune police Crime Branch raided a gambling den and took action against eight persons and seized goods worth ₹6,980. The action was taken on Friday at Dattanagar in Katraj. (Pune Crime News)

 

The SSC got information that some people were illegally gambling and the cell raided the den after keeping a watch. The SSC team saw that some people were gambling and some others were managing the activities. The SSC team apprehended eight people and seized cash and gambling equipment worth ₹6,980. An FIR has been registered against eight people under the Maharashtra Gambling Ban Act at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. The eight people and the seized goods have been handed over to officials of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station.

 

The action was taken by a team of police officials including Senior PI Bharat Jadhav, API Ashwini Patil, API Aniket Pote, policeman Ajay Rane, Irfan Pathan, Hanumant Kamble and Amit Jamdade under the guidance of Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale and DCP Amol Zende.
