TikTok user’s theory about ‘afterlife’ goes viral

NEW DELHI: A TikTok user named Brandon Monhollen has shared a wild theory about the ‘afterlife’, which not only attempts to explain what happens when you die, but also why we sometimes experience ‘déjà vu’.

Déjà vu means visiting a new or unknown place and feeling like you have come to this place earlier. ‘Déjà vu’ is a French word meaning ‘felt before’. Brandon said that as you are forgetting your old life, some memories are left in some corner of your brain and this memory gives experiences like déjà vu.

Brandon Monhollen said, “As you grow and start to forget your past life, and you focus on the life that you have now, patches of memory stay behind and that memory causes déjà vu.”

A TikTok user then asked Brandon Monhollen which is the theory that surprised him the most? Talking on this, Brandon said that he does not know if this theory is correct or not, but he read it six months ago and found it very interesting.

Brandon said, “What if when we die, the light at the end of the tunnel is the light to another hospital. There we are born, and the only reason you come out crying is because you remember everything from your past life and you’re crying at the fact that you died and lost everything.”

The video has since racked up more than 530,000 views and 25,000 likes in the space of a day.

While many social media users remained unconvinced, many people compared this theory to the famous dark drama show ‘Black Mirror’. Many people also said that with the rapid increase in population in the world, this theory seems to be true to a great extent. This theory is becoming viral on social media.
