Mumbai : Policenama online – Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut was arrested in July 2022 in connection with the alleged Goregaon Patrachal plot embezzlement case. In that case, the court has released him on bail. Now once again the Belgaum court has issued summons to Raut for making a provocative speech in Belgaum on March 30, 2018. He has also been ordered to appear in court on December 1. Therefore, if he does not appear in court, he is likely to be arrested.
Sanjay Raut interacted with the media after the Belgaum court order. Raut said, “A conspiracy has been hatched to call me to Belgaum and arrest me. I got this information two days ago. My speecheh in 2018 has been dug out today. I still don’t know what was offensive and provocative about it. If the Karnataka Government flouted the rules and put me in jail, it would have repercussions in Maharashtra. Taking note of the speech made in 2018, they have asked me to appear in the court. This means that I know I will be attacked when I visit the court.”
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had made a statement recently about dividing Solapur and Sangli parts of Maharashtra and merging them with Karnataka.
“But we are fighting for the self-respect of Maharashtra. Therefore, they are planning conspiracies of tangling us in legal matters, calling us to Belgaum and then attacking us. But we will not give up, and there will be no turning back,” said Sanjay Raut.
