₹3.75 crore sanctioned for conservation of Sinhagad Fort area from regional tourist scheme

Pune : Policenama online Sinhagad Fort-Regional Tourism Scheme | Due to efforts of Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, ₹3.75 crore has been sanctioned for maintenance of Kalyan Darwaza of the Sinhagad Fort and the nearby area from the regional tourism scheme. The Archaeological Department is going to start the work by the end of April. (Sinhagad Fort-Regional Tourism Scheme)

 

The issue of Sinhagad Fort Development Plan was pending for a long time. The issue had been raised during the District Planning Committee meeting. Chandrakant Patil had assured that the maintenance and conservation of ancient temples, forts will be included in the 2023-24 district development plan and facilities will be provided for pilgrims and tourists.

 

Patil had also assured that funds will be made available in 2022-23 for the conservation of Sinhagad Fort. Accordingly, funds have been made available from the Regional Tourism Scheme.

 

It has been proposed to make available funds worth ₹30 crore this year from the District Annual Plan for conservation of forts.

Patil has instructed the Assistant Director of the Archaeological Department to prepare a development plan. It is being planned to approve all the works during the next district planning committee meeting and complete them by March end next year.

 

In 2023-24, importance will be given to conservation of ancient places and forts and temples in the district. This will boost tourism potential in the district and create employment opportunities. Planning is also being made through the Annual District Plan. District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh is paying attention to these works and is constantly reviewing the progress.

 

The tender process for the works to be carried out as per the development plan at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s resting place at Mouje Tulapur and samadhi at Vadhu Budruk in Shirur taluka involving an expenditure of ₹269.24 crore has been started. The tender was published on the occasion of the death anniversary of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. It is being planned to begin works ar both the places before the warrior king’s birth anniversary.

 

The tender process for the works of ₹109.57 crore to be carried out according to the Jejuri development plan has been started. The first tender was about the conservation of the main temple.

 

The development plan for Sant Jagnade Maharaj temple located at Mouje Sadumbre in Maval taluka of ₹62.93 crore has been approved and has been sent to the divisional commissioner’s office for government approval.

 

The development plan of ₹43.23 crore for Ashtavinayak has been sent to the committee headed by the CM with the approval of the chief secretary.

 

At present, the development plan of Hutatma Shivram Hari Rajguru is being updated before being sent to the state government for its approval.

 

District Planning Officer Kiran Indulkar said that it should become a source of inspiration at the national level and hence, a development plan of ₹200 crore is being prepared.

 

District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh said, “During the conservation work to be carried out by the Archaeological Department of historic and religious places, attention will be paid to ensure that the work will be as per the vastu and ancient style. Since forts are part of our national heritage, importance is being given to conserve them. This will also boost tourism in the district.”
