Samriddhi Highway | Special measures should be taken to prevent accidents on Samriddhi Highway: Shinde
Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) – Samriddhi Highway | Maharashtra state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday directed that special measures should be taken to prevent accidents on the ‘Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samriddhi Highway’.
Mr Shinde was speaking in the 12th meeting of the State Road Safety Council held at the Sahyadri State Guest House.
He said that all concerned agencies need to take strict measures to prevent road accidents .
Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan, Public Health Minister Dr Tanaji Sawant, Home Department Additional Chief Secretary Anand Limaye among all concern department top brass officials were also present on the occasion.
Mr Shinde said, accidents due to human error must be avoided. Strict action should be taken against those who do not follow the traffic rules. All concerned departments and systems should take measures to prevent accidents. Black spots should be reduced.
Encroachments that cause accidents should be removed by the concerned agencies. Night patrol should be increased.
In case of an accident, the accident victims need to get help as soon as possible. For that purpose the facilities in the trauma care center should be available on time. Action should be taken to provide air ambulance facility immediately,he added.
According to the instructions of the Supreme Court, necessary measures should be taken at the district level by taking all measures and keeping the goal of zero accidents in front. Public awareness about traffic safety should be created from the school level itself.
