Pune : Policenama online – Ajit Pawar | Since only five days are remaining for the end of the civic body’s tenure, the corporators are busy in inaugurating development works. On Saturday and Sunday, 50 programmes are going to be held. Guardian Minister of Pune Ajit Pawar is going to attend 19 programmes. Leader of the opposition Devendra Fadnavis and BJP state president Chandrakant Patil are also going to attend many programmes. Hence, the political temperature in the city is likely to rise on the weekend. Ajit Pawar is going to attend 19 programmes in 12 hours.
Since the elections of the municipal corporations have been postponed, the corporators are going to become former corporators from March 15. There is no clarity about whether the municipal elections will be held in April-May or after the monsoon in Diwali. There is also a speculation that due to the approval of a bill by the state government, there will be changes in the ward’s jurisdiction. Hence, the sitting corporators are a worried lot and they have planned many development programmes before their tenure ends.
The inauguration of various development works like gardens, playgrounds, maternity hospitals, fire brigade centres, study centres, multipurpose halls, roads, flyovers etc will be done by senior leaders of different parties. However, some programmes will have to be postponed because dates of some leaders are not available.
There is a holiday on Saturday and Sunday for the state legislature. Hence, the leaders have given time to the corporators for inauguration of various projects. On Sunday, Fadnavis is going to inaugurate the flyover on Karve Road and Chandrakant Patil is going to attend 7 programmes. BJP leaders have said that the two leaders may attend more programmes.
Ajit Pawar has earmarked the entire Sunday for corporators of the NCP. He is going to attend the first programme at 6 am at Baner. Later, programmes will be held at Warje, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Katraj, Dhankawadi, Balajinagar, Kondhwa, Wanawadi, Hadapsar and the last programme will be held at Wadgaon Sheri constituency.
Ajit Pawar is going to attend 19 programmes and inaugurate 27 projects on Sunday.
