BIG NEWS : Paytm App Removed From Google Play Store For Violating Google Guidelines

New Delhi: The online payment app Paytm has been removed from the Google Play Store. But the reason for the removal of this app from the Google Play Store is violation of Google guidelines. Google has apparently removed the Paytm app because it allegedly violates the company’s new rules around online gambling.

Paytm Payment and UPI App is developed by One97 Communication Ltd. It is not visible when searching this app on Google Play Store. However, the app already installed in Android smartphones is working.

However, apart from the Paytm payment app, other apps developed by the company- Paytm for business, Paytm money, Paytm mall etc. are still available on Google Play Store. There is currently no statement from the company about the removal of this app from the Google Play Store. Paytm is owned by Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s company One97 Communication Ltd. It also has funding from Alibaba Group of China.

More than 200 Chinese apps banned
More than 200 Chinese apps have been banned in India on the orders of the Indian government. TikTok and PUBG Mobile are big names in these apps, which have crores of users in India. These apps have been accused of threat to data privacy of Indian users. After which these apps have been removed from the Google Play Store and Apple Store in India.
