Two Accused Including One Female Booked for Sexual Assault and Casteist Abuse in Vimannagar

Pune: By befriending a married woman and then forcefully sexually assaulting her, the accused abused a 30-year-old woman based on her caste. In this regard, the Viman Nagar Police registered a case against two people, including a woman. The accused were booked for sexually assaulting her and abusing her based on her caste. This incident took place between December 2023 and April 2024 at Vimannagar and Dhanori.

According to the police, the complainant and the accused met each other in December 2023. After that, the accused befriended the woman and forcefully established physical relations with her at Vimannagar and Dhanori from time to time. When the victim objected to the accused, the accused slurred the casteist remarks against her caste and abused her in derogatory language.

Furthermore, the plaintiff also complained that the accused defamed the plaintiff by sending her private photos on mobile phones of her relatives and threatened her. Accordingly, Viman Nagar Police booked the accused, Fakira alias Karan Ramdatta Sharma (35), a resident of Dhanori and a 30-year-old woman, under IPC 376, 376/2/N, 376/J, 323, 352, 504, 506, and 34 of the Atrocities Act. The Viman Nagar Police are conducting further investigation into the case.
