Chandrayaan 2 closer to moon

Policenama Online : India’s latest and most ambitious deep-space mission, Chandrayaan 2 launched on July 22 from ISRO Launchpad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

Since then, Chandrayaan 2 has successfully completed three earthbound orbit-raising manoeuvres.

It completed its second earthbound orbit-raising on July 26, 2019 as planned. On july 22 Chandrayaan 2 was injected into an elliptical orbit.

The Indian space agency says the major activities include earthbound manoeuvres, Trans Lunar insertion, Lunar bound mnoeuvres. ISRO has explained the Trans Lunar insertion of Chandrayaan 2 is scheduled on August 14, 2019, which will send the spacecraft to the moon.
