Coronavirus Lockdown : FIR Lodged on DTC Staffers, was Carrying Migrant Workers in DTC & Cluster Buses

New Delhi : Thousands of deaths are occurring every day in the country and abroad due to corona virus. Now its direct effect is visible in India. Currently, the number of corona patients in the country is 2094. While 57 people have died so far. In view of this danger, the central government has announced a lockdown till 14 April. The biggest impact of the lockdown is on the poor and laborers.

Due to the lockdown, workers are migrating from many cities including Delhi. A few days ago, there was a gathering of migrant laborers at ISBT, Anand Vihar, Delhi. DTC and cluster buses were arranged to transport them. Now Delhi Police has registered an FIR for the use of DTC and cluster buses to carry migrant laborers.

FIR registered under Disaster Management Act 2005
Earlier on Sunday, a policeman posted on picket duty on ITO bridge complained about this, following which a case was registered at Shakarpur police station in East Delhi. A senior Delhi Police official said that we have registered an FIR under the Disaster Management Act 2005. The matter is currently being investigated.
