COVID19 : Schools, colleges to remain closed in one more district of Maharashtra

Mumbai : After the new wave of Corona in Maharashtra, lockdowns have been announced again in Amravati and Yavatmal, while restrictions are being implemented in other districts as well. Now all the school colleges in Wardha have been asked to remain closed till further orders. District Collector Prerana H. Deshbharatar of Wardha issued this order on Friday. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Health Department has said that no new cases of new corona strains have been found in Yavatmal, Amravati and Satara districts.

More than 5,000 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported on Thursday after 75 days in Maharashtra. State Health Department said that COVID19 infection has been found in 5427 people, with this total cases have increased to 20,81,520. The statement said that 38 infected people died due to Coronavirus, after which the death toll has reached 51,669.

The Yavatmal district administration in eastern Maharashtra, concerned over rising cases of Coronavirus, ordered a lockdown for 10 days from Thursday night. Earlier in the day, a weekend lockdown was announced in the Amravati district of the same Vidarbha region from 8 am Saturday to 7 am Monday. District Magistrate of Yavatmal MD Singh said that schools, colleges, coaching classes will remain closed during this period and no religious work will be allowed, while only 50 persons will be allowed in weddings.
