Pimpri: A man was arrested for illegally stealing domestic gas and selling it dangerously in a 4 kg cylinder by social security department from Ravet on Wednesday (February 17). Police have seized goods worth Rs 90,710 and arrested Popat Soma Dhekale, a resident of Pragati Empire, Laxman Nagar, Thergaon.
According to the police, the police had received information that domestic gas was being taken out of a large cylinder and sold dangerously in a 4 kg gas cylinder at Siddharth Pushpa Private Gas Agency in Ravet. Based on the information received, a team from the Social Security Department raided and seized cash worth Rs 17,600, gas worth Rs 12,220, two brass refills worth Rs 300, two mobile phones worth Rs 20,500 and a two-wheeler worth Rs 40,000 worth i.e. a total of Rs 90,710 worth valuables.
The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, Upper Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokale, Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudhir Hiremath, Assistant Commissioner of Police Prerna Katte, Senior Inspector of Police Vitthal Kubde and led by a team of Assistant Inspector of Police Nilesh Waghmare, Sub-Inspector of Police Dhairyashil Solanke and Assistant Faujdar Vijay Kamble, Police Constables Anant Yadav, Sandeep Gawari, Santosh Aswale, Sunil Shirsat, Nitin Londhe, Santosh Barge, Mahesh Barkule, Vishnu Bharti, Maruti Karchunde, Deepak Sable, Ganesh Karote, Vaishnavi Gawde, Sangita Jadhav, Yogesh Tidke , Marotrao Jadhav, Sonali Mane, Yogini Karche.
