Deadly Morning Crash: Six Fatalities in Kalyan-Nagar Highway Accident

Pune: Today, early in the morning, a shocking accident involving a state transport bus, a tractor, and a four-wheeler car took place on the Dhavalpuri branch of the Kalyan-Nagar Highway. In this fatal accident, six people were killed and three others were severely injured.

The deceased individuals who lost their lives in the accident are identified as Nilesh Raosaheb Bhor (a resident of Deswade), Prakash Raosaheb Thorat (a resident of Parner), Ashok Chima Kedar, Jaywant Rambhau Pardhi, Santosh Laxman Pardhi (all residents of Sangamner), and Sachin Kantilal Mandlicha (a resident of Pathardi).

As per the information, today, at 3 a.m., a sugarcane trolley overturned at Hivare Korda farm on Kalyan-Nagar Highway, scattering all sugarcane on the road. At that time, another tractor was helping to take that tractor aside, and one four-wheeler driver was directing the traffic on the road, keeping his car’s light open in the night.

When the car driver was directing the traffic on the road, at that time, a speeding bus travelling from Thane to Mehkar collided with a car and a tractor from behind. The impact of the collision was so severe that the ST bus overturned, and people were largely injured.

As soon as the news of the accident spread in the village, local youths rushed to the spot to help the trapped people come out of the bus. In this, one person was injured after being hit by the metal sheet of the bus. Following the accident, the injured people were immediately transferred to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.

It is learned that five people died in Parner Rural Hospital, and one died while undergoing treatment in Ahmednagar Hospital. After getting information about the accident, police quickly arrived at the scene, normalised the traffic, and rushed people to the hospital for treatment.
