Pune: Violent Outbursts in Pune’s Akashwani Colony: Resident Assaults Mahavitaran Workers Amid Frustration Over Power Outage

Pune: Over the frustration of an electricity outage in the Akashwani Colony of Pune, a person residing in the area brutally beat two employees (wiremen) of Mahavitaran Company with wooden bamboo yesterday. In this case, the Chaturshringi police have registered a case against the accused for obstructing government work.

The accused, identified as Rajesh Omprakash Tusam, now faces legal action on the basis of a complaint filed against him by a 35-year-old Mahavitaran employee, Pramod Ramesh Wakode.

As per the information, there was an electricity outage in the Akashwani Colony area on Monday night. And therefore, the plaintiff was testing the joints of HT cable near Mofatlal bungalow in the area.

At that time, the accused Tusam came there and started beating the plaintiff with bamboo sticks over a power cut in the area. In this assault, the plaintiff received many injuries, including to his head and hands.

Meanwhile, when the plaintiff’s colleague, Sagar, came to solve the quarrel, the accused also abused him and unleashed a heavy attack on him. Following the incident, the plaintiff filed a complaint against the accused at Chaturshringi Police Station. Accordingly, police registered an initiated action against the accused under IPC 353, 332, 504, and 506.

Assistant Police Inspector Kekan is conducting further investigation.
