Pune: Shocking Assault on Police Constable Amidst Large Crowd at Modern Dairy Fire Scene

Pune: Yesterday, on January 23, a 38-year-old person assaulted a police constable who was scattering the crowd that had assembled in large numbers to observe a fire incident at Modern Dairy. This incident took place in the Lashkar area near Hotel Radio on Monday at around 9 p.m. In this regard, Lashkar Police apprehended the accused, Subhan Abdul Kader Saudagar.

The accused is a resident of Bhimpura Galli No. 9, Pune Camp Area, and had come to see a burning fire that broke out at Modern Dairy in Lashkar Area at night. As per the police, a huge crowd was gathered near the incident to see a burning inferno.

As the fire was rising and there was a little time for the fire brigade team to come, meanwhile, the police were dispersing the crowd from the fire spot. When the police constable Lokesh Kadam and his colleagues, Police Sub-Inspector Bansude, Police Constable Sagar Haral, and Police Naik Manjare, were scattering the crowd, the accused argued with Kadam.

The accused started arguing with Kadam, asking who they were to ask him what to do. When Kadam tried to convince him to get away from the fire, he astonishingly slapped police constable Kadam twice and further pushed him on the road.

Accordingly, Constable Kadam lodged a complaint against the accused at the Lashkar police station. Based on this complaint, the Lashkar police took immediate action and apprehended the accused for obstructing government work and assaulting a government officer. He was booked under IPC 353 and 332. Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Gaikwad.
