New Delhi : The daughter of the powerful ruler of Dubai, who was caught from a boat while trying to flee the country in 2018, has appeared again in a new video. In the video, the princess is saying that she does not know if she will be able to survive in this situation.
The BBC has released a video in which Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Al Maktoum is seen in a prison villa, presumably from the city of the United Arab Emirates. Her father Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is also the Prime Minister and Vice President of Dubai.
Sheikha said in a video, ‘I am held hostage. This villa has been converted into a prison. I can’t even go out for fresh air.’
There is no immediate response from the government’s Dubai Media Office to the response sought by the Associated Press.
In 2018, with the help of a friend and a former French detective, Sheikha Latifa had escaped from the boat although she was later caught again off the coast of India.
The BBC said Sheikha Latifa recorded these videos on the phone in a toilet in the villa, which she had found secretly about a year after she was caught.
In the video, Sheikha Latifa is seen saying, ‘I don’t know when I will be released and what will be the situation when I will be released. Every day I am concerned about my safety and my life.’
