Pune, Policenama Online – Former State Police Chief and also the Pune Police Commissioner B J Misar passes away. He joined the Indian Police Service in 1958 and retired in the rank of the Director General of Police. He held with distinction important posts like the Commissioner of Police, Pune, Special Inspector General of Police, CID, and Maharashtra.

The officers & staff of Maharashtra Police are deeply saddened by the demise of retired DG Shri Bhaskar Misar, late last evening, in Pune. His final rites will be conducted at the ‘Vaikunth Smashan Bhumi’, Pune at 12 noon today #RIP Sir. Jai Hind.
He has authored a number of insightful books namely ‘Human Rights and Law Enforcement’ ‘Human Rights the only key to Police Success, ‘Encounters and the Law’. He was also the Member of Maharashtra Police Research Centre, Pune.
He was also awarded the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious service (1975) and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (1986)
