Indian Army Mulling the Proposal to Allow Common Citizens to Join Force for Three Years

New Delhi : There is good news for ordinary citizens who want to serve the country by joining the army. Soon the Indian Army can offer civilians a chance to join the army for three years. News agency ANI gave this information by quoting army sources on Wednesday. For this, the Army is considering a proposal of ‘Tour of Duty’. If everything is correct, it can be announced soon. Under the proposal, the candidate to be selected under the ‘Tour of Duty’ will have to serve in the army for three years. More information about the proposal is yet to come.

On the other hand, the Army is now considering giving the paramilitary forces, i.e. paramilitary personnel, an opportunity to work with them for some time.

Plan to attract talented youth
According to ANI, the army spokesman has confirmed the proposal. Under this scheme, the army wants to attract the talented youth of the country. Through this scheme, those youth will also be able to join the army, who for some reason were not able to join earlier. There is a shortage of good officers in the Indian Army. The army wants to fill this shortfall under this plan.

At present, through the Short Service Commission (SSC), the youth are given the opportunity to join the army for the lowest 10 years. Earlier, the youth recruited through it had a tenure of 5 years, which was later revised for 10 years.

The Army is also considering that paramilitary personnel should also be given a chance to work in the army for some time. An army source told the news agency ANI that the Indian Army is considering a proposal called the ‘inverse induction model’, under which central paramilitary forces personnel can be given a chance to work in the army for some time
