The railways started operating 15 pairs of special trains from May 12 amid the ongoing lockdown due to Coronavirus. Indian Railways has decided to make a big change in the rules of these trains for the convenience of passengers. Under this, now the advance reservation period for these trains has been increased from 7 days to 30 days. With this, immediate reservation facility will not be available in these trains. RAC and waiting tickets will be issued for these trains. However, passengers with waiting list will not be allowed to board the trains.

According to the new rules of the railway, the first chart will be issued 4 hours before the train runs. The second chart will be released 2 hours earlier. Tickets can also be booked under current booking between the first and second charts. With this, now for these trains in addition to online, tickets will be available from reservation counters, authorized agents and common service centers. These rules will be effective from May 24 and  will be applicable for trains starting from May 31.
