Khadak police arrest habitual vehicle thief, seize vehicles worth Rs 2 lakh

Pune :  Policenama onlineThe Khadak police arrested a habitual vehicle thief and seized an auto-rickshaw, two two-wheelers, totally worth Rs 2.05 lakh.

The action was taken near Sathe Udyan in Shukrawar Peth. The accused has been identified as Vinayak Bharat Koli (26), a resident of Lohiya Nagar. The investigating team was instructed to trace vehicle thieves as vehicle thefts went up under the jurisdiction of Khadak police station. While checking records of criminals for clues, police personnel Ravi Lokhande and Sandeep Talekar got a tip-off that habitual criminal Vinayak Koli was at Shukrawar Peth after stealing an auto-rickshaw from Shivaji Road.
The police arrested him in Shukrawar Peth by setting a trap. During sustained interrogation, he admitted that he stole an auto-rickshaw, a KTM bike and an Activa scooter. The KTM bike was stolen from the jurisdiction of the Rabale police station. Robbery offences were registered against him at the Khadak and Dehu Road police stations.
The action was taken under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Rajendra Dahale, DCP Vivek Patil and ACP Satish Govekar. Senior PI Shrihari Bahirat, PI Harshvardhan Gade, PSI Rahul Khandale, PSI Shankar Kumbhare, police personnel Aziz Baig, Sandeep Patil, Sandeep Talekar, Ravi Lokhande, Vishal Jadhav, Rahul More, Himmat Holkar, Nitin Jadhav, Pravin Gavhane, Sagar Ghadge, Kiran Shitole and Mahendra Pawar took part in the action.
