Pune: In broad daylight on the Jangali Maharaj (JM) Road, a dreadful incident involving the firing of two rounds of bullets at a businessman took place yesterday. This incident transpired on Tuesday, April 16, at around 3.30 p.m. on the road below the Argade House office.
The person attacked in this firing has been identified as Dheeraj Dineshchandra Argade (38), a resident of Kohinoor Estate, Wakdewadi, Khadki. Argade is a famous businessman and has an office on the Jangali Maharaj road.
Yesterday, at around 3.30 p.m., Argade was sitting in his car below the office. At that time, two assailants, wearing a t-shirt similar to Swiggy’s red shirt, arrived on a bike and, within a fraction of seconds, opened gunfire. Both accused fired almost two rounds of bullets, targeting Argade. Fortunately, Argade did not receive any injuries in this incident.
After the firing, Argade started shouting, which led the assailants to flee towards the Shivajinagar Gaothan area, fearing apprehension. However, before absconding, the accused threatened Argade that, though he had been saved this time, he would not be saved next time.
Following the incident, Argade lodged a police complaint at Shivajinagar police station. Promptly, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sainath Thombare, and Senior Police Inspector Chandrashekhar Sawant visited the spot and inspected it. Police have started an investigation in the area, and the investigation is proceeding at a faster pace as police are now searching for the accused with the help of CCTV footage of the area.
