On Duty AIIMS Doctors Going Home Beaten By Police, One Got Fracture

Bhopal : In Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal, doctors have accused the police of assault. According to reports, the police have been accused of blocking the employees of the emergency services, including doctors and staff of the hospital in the lockdown. On Wednesday evening, 2 PG doctors going home after duty from AIIMS were beaten up by policemen. According to reports, a doctor also suffered a fracture in his hand after he was allegedly beaten up by policemen.

According to the reports, PG doctors Ritu Parna and doctor Yuvraj were going to their house located behind AIIMS at 06:30 PM in the forensic medicine department of Bhopal AIIMS, they were stopped and abused by 2 policemen on the way. Doctor Yuvraj said that the policemen present there started fighting with the stick without hearing anything. He said, “Policemen abused us when we asked to see the I-card. Our luggage was also thrown away.” A doctor’s hand is also said to have broken.

The Resident Doctors Association of AIIMS has written a letter to the Chief Minister, the Prime Minister and all the big officials including the DGP, demanding immediate action in the matter, describing the matter as extremely shameful. Madhya Pradesh is one of the states most affected by the Coronavirus. More than 200 people have been affected by this deadly virus in this state and at least 13 people have died due to this.
