Petrol-Diesel Prices Again Increased After One Day’s Relief, Diesel More Expensive Than Petrol

New Delhi : While prices of petrol and diesel remained stable on Sunday, people were seen getting relief from inflation, the increase once again broke the hopes on Monday. Government oil marketing companies did not make any change in the price of diesel after 21 days on Sunday and the price of petrol was also kept constant. For the second time in the last three weeks, the price of petrol was stable. On Monday, companies increased the price of petrol by 0.05 paise per liter in the capital Delhi and by 0.13 paise per liter in diesel.

According to the Indian Oil Corporation, the price of petrol in Delhi increased from Rs 80.38 to Rs 80.43 per liter on Monday. On the other hand, the price of diesel increased from Rs 80.40 to Rs 80.53 per liter. At present, diesel is being sold more expensive than petrol in Delhi and the price difference between the two fuels is now just 13 paise per liter. Earlier the difference between petrol and diesel was 10 to 15 rupees per liter.

Petrol has become costlier by Rs 9.17 per liter since the fuel price hike started on 7 June. Diesel has also become costlier by Rs 11.14 per liter. Earlier on Saturday, oil marketing companies increased the price of petrol by 25 paise in Delhi, 23 paise in Kolkata and Mumbai, while 22 paise per liter in Chennai. The price of diesel also increased by 21 paise in Delhi, 18 paise in Kolkata, 20 paise in Mumbai and 17 paise per liter in Chennai a day earlier.
