Action taken against 14 gang members by using MCOCA

Pune : Policenama onlinePune Crime | Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta is using MCOCA to act against gangs in the city. Action against MCOCA has been taken against notorious criminal Devendra alias Bitya Bhausaheb Padale and 13 others. They also include six children. The gang has spread terror in the area under Sinhagad police station and many serious crimes are registered against it. CP Gupta has acted against six gangs in the current year and 69 gangs in all by using MCOCA.

 

Action has been taken against Devendra alias Bitya Bhausaheb Padale (34), a resident of Vadgaon Budruk, Vaibhav Chandrakant Pavle (19), a resident of Vadgaon Budruk, Hrithik Ramesh Jagde (19), a resident of Vadgaon Pathar, Malhar Dnyaneshwar Avle (19), a resident of Vadgaon Budruk, Anurag Balkrishna More (18), a resident of Vadgaon, Vijay Ratnakar Mhaske (18), a resident of Vadgaon Budruk, Ganesh Pandurang Chorghe (22), a resident of Vadgaon Pathar, Mauli Londhe, Dadu Pasalkar and six children under Maharashra Control of Orgaanised Crime Act (MCOCA). Twelve crimes are registered against the gang.

 

The accused Devendra alias Bitya Bhausaheb Padale and his aides had committed various crimes like attempt to kill, fighting, creating terror in the area by using a pistol, damaging citizen’s property by using weapons etc. Preventive action had been taken against them but it did not yield any result.

 

Senior PI Yusuf Shaikh of Sinhagad police station prepared a MCOCA proposal which he submitted to Addl CP Rajendra Dahale through DCP Purnima Gaikwad. Dahale approved the proposal and action was taken against the gang through MCOCA.

 

Amitabh Gupta, after becoming CP, has taken tough steps against various criminals in the city. He has taken action against criminal gangs by using MCOCA. According to his guidance, action has been taken against six gangs this year and 69 gangs so far.

 

The action was taken by Senior PI Yusuf Shaikh, PI Pramod Waghmare, PSI Bhimrao Pure, API Aba Uttekar, policeman Smit Chavan and Shailesh Chavan under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Rajendra Dahale, DCP Purnima Gaikwad and ACP Sunil Pawar.
